We hired Johnston Electric after purchasing our home in August. Our insurance company required specific electrical work to be completed by a deadline, and we also requested additional upgrades. Mark completed a walkthrough, provided a list of recommended work, and we agreed to move forward with everything. Scheduling was difficult from the start, with about two weeks of delays. During a lengthy scheduling call, I repeatedly confirmed that I understood the scope and cost, but I was still told multiple times that I didn’t understand the project and was asked several times to involve my husband instead, despite clearly stating that I am a homeowner and the primary point of contact. This was frustrating and unprofessional. The work was completed over two days, which we were not informed of in advance. Mark stated that a permit had been pulled and that an inspection would be required. Months later, after multiple outlets were not working (including an RV outlet), we hired another licensed electrician to inspect the work. He found that the RV outlet line had been cut and not connected, there was exposed wiring beneath the panel, the panel was loose and caused lights to flicker, and no permit paperwork was posted onsite or inspection completed. When I called to ask about the open permit and these findings, my concerns were dismissed, and the conversation became unprofessional, with no clear resolution offered. Given the safety concerns, incomplete work, and lack of clear permit handling, we would not recommend Johnston Electric.
Mark came out on a Saturday to help with my schedule, and knocked out everything I needed done quickly. He was very fair with pricing. Michelle was an amazing help in getting the info of what I needed done, and with scheduling. Amazing people and definitely a go to for any electrical needs!
Mark is an excellent electrician, and Michelle is incredibly knowledgeable and does very helpful troubleshooting. This is a company that truly cares about helping their customers.
Mark came out as an emergency and managed to diagnose a loose service connection from FPL and we were back an up and running within no time. He was very helpful, on time, showed up within minutes of our call and we now have him on speed dial for all of our electrical needs in Ormond Beach. Thanks again Mark.
